Finding the whole from a percentage

If you know that X% is Y, how much is 100%? Imagine that you want to buy a car and you see a price of £3,000 in the showroom. You are delighted, because you have exactly that much saved, but then the salesman tells you it is only a 20% deposit, that is, only 20% of the total price of the car. This calculator works out the total price of the car. Enter 20% in the first field and 3,000 in the second, and the calculator tells you that the total price of the car is £15,000.

If 20% is 3,000, then 100% is 15,000.
